Sometimes you need to kick back a little. This will link you to some cool games that aren't just about blasting your way through hordes of evil monsters or drug dealers. We'll expand this page and add on some more things as we go.

The Adventures of Josie True -- A Web-based historical adventure game for girls.

http://www.josietrue.com/

Sci Squad -- A Web-based scientific problem-solving game (from the Dicovery Channel).

How Many Lily Pads Today? -- A word puzzle that asks the age-old question, "How many lily pads could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could and would chuck lily pads?" Well, anyway, it's about lily pads..

Turn Out the Lights Game -- Turn all the squares yellow by clicking on them. It looks easy at first, but there's a twist that makes it harder than it looks.

Online Games From Jefferson Labs -- There are several javascript-based games here

  • Who Wants to Win a Million Dollars?-- Just like the TV show, answering science and math questions (without real money, of course). Is that your final answer?
  • Science Vocabulary Hangman -- Actually, it also has words from math, general vocabularies, and geography (but it's mostly science). You get to choose which category before you play.
  • Mystery Math -- A number game that lets you guess another person's secret number.

Some Stuff About Artificial Intelligence

Dr. Werner Wilhelm Webowitz, Web Quack Psychiatwist -- Have ever been analyzed by a computer? It will ask you questions. When you respond to it, it will have a conversation with you.

Eliza -- An early example of Artificial Language Processing, a program written in 1967. You talk, ask questions, etc., Eliza answers you with questions and responses (like Dr. Webowitz). These are examples of artificial intelligence in its baby stages.

Robitron -- CyberMecha Studio's Robitron is a slightly more complex chatbot. Could he pass the Turing Test?

Maybelle -- Maybelle's image changes, depending on her mood. As you "talk" to her, her expression changes, she tilts her head, etc.

       A.L.I.C.E. --
