About Us
CS-CAMP is a program
of the Center for Excellence and
Equity in Education (CEEE), and is funded by the National
Science Foundation.
The Primary Investigator
for CS-CAMP is Richard Tapia. Dr. Tapia is a mathematician and professor
in the Department of Computational
and Applied Mathematics at Rice University in Houston, Texas.
He is internationally known for his research in the computational
and mathematical sciences and is a national leader in education
and outreach programs. His current Rice positions are Noah Harding
Professor of Computational and Applied Mathematics; Associate Director
of Graduate Studies, Office of
Research and Graduate Studies; and Director of the Center
for Excellence and Equity in Education. You can read more about

The Co-Primary
Investigator for CS-CAMP is Keith Cooper. Dr. Cooper
is a Professor in the Department
of Computer Science at Rice. Dr. Cooper is the leader of the
Scalar Compiler group at Rice, often called (affectionately) the
Massively Scalar
Compiler Project. The Scalar Compiler group investigates issues
that relate to optimization and code generation for modern machines.

CS-CAMP's Program Manager,
Michael Sirois, taught at Lanier Middle School (in the Houston Independent
School District) for 23 years before coming to Rice in the Fall
of 2002. He has worked for CEEE's summer program, GirlTECH/TeacherTECH,
