Engineering Speed is a three-part program that will be presented at the Houston Autorama 2007 for middle and high school students showing the connection between technology, cars, math and real life.
One segment of the presentation is taken from Richard Tapia's “Math Is Cool,” a five-component video program which demonstrates how math can be used to meet challenges in competitive sports and showing cars. This segment shows how a psychedelic video about Dr Richard Tapia’s award winning 1970 Chevelle show car was developed using mathematics and numerical computation. “Math Is Cool” has been presented to students and teachers across the country to enthusiastic response.
